Aetna Medicare Advantage HMO plans typically – but not always – require you to select a primary care provider (PCP). Your PCP can give you referrals for specialist visits and hospital care.
The Aetna Medicare Open Access Plan (HMO) also provides coverage for a nationwide network of health care providers and facilities.
This plan gives you the flexibility to see a network specialist, typically without a referral from your primary care physician.
