The Star Ratings evaluate all Medicare Advantage plans based on categories that include:

- Management of chronic conditions
The ratings range from one star (poor) to five stars (excellent).
For 2019, Aetna Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug (MAPD) plans earned an overall weighted average of 4 out of 5 stars (above average) in the annual ratings released on Oct. 10, 2018.2
