If you are new to Medicare, recently moved or lost coverage, you may qualify for a Medicare Advantage plan. Enrollment in the described plan type may be limited to certain times of the year unless you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period.
What at-home health care services are covered by Aetna Medicare Advantage plans?
Aetna Medicare Advantage plans may cover some home health care services, including:
- Professional nursing care provided on a part-time basis. Medicare defines this as receiving care services up to 8 hours a day. This includes a maximum of 28 hours per week.
- Care to improve mobility and strength after an injury, surgery or illness. Original Medicare may cover physical therapy.
- Therapy to address speech, language and swallowing issues.
- Coverage for medical equipment like wheelchairs, hospital beds and oxygen equipment.
Does Aetna pay for caregivers?
Medicare Advantage plans must provide the same coverage as Original Medicare. Some Medicare Advantage plans offer additional home health care and benefits.
